My Puberty Vocal Change

Stimmbruch! (Picture by Timecast)

Mein Stimmbruch (Deutsch)

The following recordings were made from 1984 to 1996. I have now remastered them digitally to remove the noise. All sounds are available as 8-bit-WAV, RealAudio 3.0 and MPEG Layer III (better quality and faster download).

By the way: The German sentence "Das Pferd frisst keinen Gurkensalat" (The horse doesn't eat cucumber salad) was the first sound that was transmitted over a telephone (1860 by the German inventor Philipp Reis from his barn into his house).

Note values are calculated according to the well-tempered tuning. c3 is the "normal" c (which has one helper line below/atop in the violin/bass key). The frequency of february 1987 is probably a bit too high, since the E in "Februar" sounds brighter. Frequencies measured with CoolEdit.
